Virginia R. Schaefer
September 22, 1927 - January 18, 2012
Virginia R. Schaefer, 84, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary. She was born on September 22, 1927 in the Town of Taycheedah, the daughter of Alfred and Ida Steffen Richter. On October 11, 1947 she married Gilbert M. Schaefer and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2011. They were longtime members of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac and recently members of Holy Family Parish. Virginia was very active in many volunteer organizations, including St. Vincent de Paul and the Equitable Reserve Association.
SURVIVORS: four children, James (Audrey) Schaefer of Oakfield, Ronald (Jennifer) Schaefer of Fond du Lac, Mary Schaefer of Waupun, Ann (D.J.) Faul of Fond du Lac; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Wirtz of Mt. Calvary; one sister-in-law, Helen Richter of Fond du Lac; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie (Josie) Schaefer of School Hill, Esther (Bob) Schad of Chilton, Erma Ramminger of New Holstein, Helen Schad of School Hill, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; her son, Mark Schaefer; one brother, Vernon Richter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin (Sally) Schaefer, Wilfred (Ann) Schaefer, Ambrose Ramminger, Frank Schad, Rudolph Wirtz.
Funeral Information
VISITATION: Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 9 – 11 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11 AM at Holy Family Church. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
