Geraldine M. Filipiak, 76, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born September 20, 1933 in Waupaca, the daughter of Melvin and Mata Kading Glode. On March 20, 1953 she married Michael J. Filipiak, Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1991. Geraldine enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to country music, cooking, baking and loved spending time with her family.
SURVIVORS: eight children, Michele Filipiak, Fond du Lac, Michael Filipiak, Fond du Lac, Gerald (Charlene) Filipiak, Havasu, AZ, Patrick Filipiak, Fond du Lac, Thomas Filipiak, Fond du Lac, Cynthia (Dave) Goyette, Flint, MI, Theodore Filipiak, Fond du Lac, Walter Filipiak, Fond du Lac; one step daughter, Dixie Hasselbrink, Schaumburg, IL; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice (John) Steffens, Appleton, Nancy Eckberg, Raleigh, NC, Charon Lichgenberg, Appleton; one brother, Dennis Glode, Appleton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael; one daughter, Susan Marie; three sisters, Betty Hebenstrich, Charlene Wilharms, Delores Georgeson; two brothers, Elwyn Glode, Frederick Glode.
Funeral Information
VISITATION: will be from 3 – 7 PM on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the traditional service and inurnment will take place in Rienzi Cemetery.
