Norma A. Hammarlund

December 31, 1917 - February 25, 2010

Norma A. Hammarlund, age 92, formerly a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and a resident of Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the nursing home.
She was born in Wautoma on December 31, 1917 the daughter of Edwin and Amelia Henke Reader. On November 29, 1939 she married Eskil Hammarlund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Evanston, IL. Eskil preceded her in death on January 16, 1955. Norma worked at Infant Socks, Hanson’s Snack Shop, and the Diamond Drive In. She was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Norma enjoyed counter cross stitch, bowling, reading, playing cards and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

SURVIVORS: five children; John (Nelda) Hammarlund, Anaheim, CA, Gail (Bill) King, Old Town, FL, Dianne (Jim) Wirtz, St. Peter, David “Duffy” (Beverly) Hammarlund, Mountain Home, ID, Stephen Hammarlund, Cleveland, OH, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 7
great-great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren 9 step-great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Gerald (Muggsy) Reader, Fond du Lac, two sisters, Arlene Moses, Mountain Home, ARK, and Lois (Fred) Jackson, Glasgo, KY. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Clifford (Mildred) Reader, two sisters; Hazel (Paul) Koepp, Grace (Emil) Lorenz, and a brother-in-law, Bill Moses.

Funeral Information

VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 4 to 7 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend David Pavesic will officiate. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
