Vernon A. Sarauer, Sr.

Vernon A. Sarauer, Sr., 87, of 653 W. Arndt Street, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 7, 1922, in Bloomer, WI, the son of Frank and Rose Zwiefelhofer Sarauer. On September 8, 1942, he married Esther M. Dewitz in St. Killian, WI. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1988. A life long resident of Fond du Lac County, Vernon was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1991. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the South Pacific from September of 1945 to May of 1946. He was a member of Abler-Engel American Legion Post #454 of Mt. Calvary.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Sonnentag of Racine, WI and JoAnn (Don) Norton of Oshkosh, nine sons, Arlyn (Kay) Sarauer of Conover, WI, David (Mary) Sarauer of West Bend, Roger (Linda) Sarauer of Fond du Lac, Glenn (Carol) Sarauer of Fond du Lac, Gary (Karen) Sarauer of Ripon, Vernon Sarauer Jr. of Fond du Lac, Richard (Lisa) Sarauer of Neenah, Robert (Darlene) Sarauer of Fond du Lac, and Frank (Rose) Sarauer of Fond du Lac, 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Delores Finch of Las Vegas and Beverly (Gregor) Rohlinger of Kewaskum, two brothers, Kenneth (Beverly) Sarauer of Milwaukee and Donald (Marlene) Sarauer of West Bend, a son-in-law, Phil Schneider of North Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His parents, wife, a daughter, Elizabeth Schneider, an infant son, Joseph Sarauer, four grandsons, Michael, Chad, Marc, and Anthony Sarauer, a daughter-in-law, Pam Sarauer, a sister, Sylvia Roecker, a brother, Bernard Sarauer, and a brother-in-law, Maury Finch preceded him in death.

Funeral Information

Visitation for Vernon A. Sarauer, Sr. will be on Sunday, August 29, 2010, from 3 to 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 6 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Deacon Paul Monzel will officiate and entombment services will be on Monday, August 30th at 9:30 AM at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
