Adrian Anthony Betley

Adrian A. Betley, age 77, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on July 17, 1939 in Milwaukee, the son of Felix and Irene (Holewinski) Betley. Adrian attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida, WI and St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, WI. He was ordained in 1965 and served several parishes in the Green Bay Diocese before leaving the priesthood. Between 1965 and 1983 Adrian worked for the State of Wisconsin and was instrumental in starting Wisconsin’s CESA Program. He was also instrumental in forming the Gratitude Club and enjoyed many years of recovery. In addition, Adrian managed the Broken Bread food program for several years.



Adrian married Joan Perron on May 10, 1983 in Pickens, South Carolina. He worked for many years at the Fairwater Canning Factory as the Warehouse Foreman. He enjoyed fishing, feeding/watching birds, and flower gardening. Joan and Adrian enjoyed traveling and visited most parts of the United States.



Survivors include his wife Joan of Fond du Lac; his brother, Jack (Gloria) Betley; his sister, Delphine Nell; nieces and nephews; step-children, Ann (Brooke) Hayes of Cross Plains, WI, Gretchen (Grant) Withers of Oshkosh, Amy Farrell of Apple Valley, MN, Michelle (Randy) Uhrlenbauch of Appleton, WI, Michael Perron of Sparta, WI, of Tom (Allyson) Perron of Greenville, WI, Catherine (Jeff) LaPat of PA, Teresa (Don) Titus of West Bend, WI. Joan and Adrian also have twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.



Visitation will take place on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Cremation will follow the traditional service. Interment will take place at a later date at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
