Raymond F. "Ray" Sebert

November 5, 1943 — August 7, 2017

Raymond F. “Ray” Sebert, 73, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born in Princeton on November 5, 1943 to Frank and Helen (Disterhaft) Sebert. Ray served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. On May 31, 1969, he married Kathy Gaffney at St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac.



Ray had a very strong work ethic. It was said that he could do the work of 3 men. He retired in 2012, after 43 years at Lee Beverage in Oshkosh. Ray grew up on the family farm in Princeton. For 50 years, he and his brother hunted deer on that very farm. He also enjoyed hunting turkey. Ray was a very proud and involved father of his two children, Jim and Amy. He never missed their school or sporting events.



Survivors include his wife, Kathy; two children, Jim (Amy) and Amy (Paul) Snifka; four grandchildren, Sydney, Mack, Payton and Landon; two sisters, Doris (Bill) Minerich and Irene Cervinski; a sister-in-law, Kristine Sebert; and a brother-in-law, Tim Sann. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas; and two sisters, Barbara Sann and Virginia (Fred) Foelske.



Memorials may be directed to the Hospice Home of Hope.



Visitation for Ray will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, 271 4th Street Way in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Cremation has taken place.
