Ethel L. Stacey

Ethel L. Stacey, age 79, loving mother, wife, and daughter, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on June 1, 1938, the daughter of Leroy and Ethel Abitz. On July 14, 1956 she married George Stacey, they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage before his death in January 2012. Ethel worked for thirty years at Wells Manufacturing and five and a half years at Mercury. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were her greatest joy. Ethel loved baking, gardening, flowers, playing bingo, and spending time with good friends, Geo, Barb, and Shirley.



Ethel will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Linda (Larry) Erke, and Debra (Scott Degner) Stacey; and one son, George (Mary) Stacey; six grandchildren, Kelly (Paul) Schaefer, Larry (Jamie Freund) Erke Jr, Jeff Commo Jr, Stacey Commo, Mindy (Tony) Gau, Ashley (Nick) Freund; seven great-grandchildren, Brenden, Treston, Hannah, Kasey, Joseph, Amariah, Spencer; three brothers, Leroy (Shirley) Abitz; Alvin Abitz, and Kenneth (Betty) Abitz; two sisters, Joyce Schwinn, and Chris (Andy) Humleker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Donna) Stacey, and Jim Stacey; her best friend, Geo Seaman; another special friend, Barb Marx; cousin, Shirley Rasmussen; her faithful companion, “Munchie.” and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one brother, David.



Visitation will take place on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
