How we are combating COVID-19

Uecker-Witt Funeral Home continues to serve our community, even in these uncertain times surrounding COVID-19 and it’s local, state, and nationwide impact.Our staff will continue to be on-site, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. As always, we’re a phone call away 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you'd like to speak with us in person, please use our main entrance located off Park Avenue, as there is limited access to our facility.

Gov. Ever's update to Emergency Order #8 on was enacted on Friday, March 20, 2020. In light of this, Uecker-Witt will postpone all visitations, services and programs @ our facility until further notice. This also includes the current semester of our Grief Share program. We feel that the health of our staff and that of the families we serve supersedes events that we would normally coordinate.

So, what are we doing to continue to assist families? 

  1. Uecker-Witt Funeral Directors will continue to be on call around the clock as always. Whether a death occurs at a hospice facility, private residence, hospital or nursing home, we WILL be there.
  2. Directors will continue to assist with funeral arrangements whether over the phone or in-person at the funeral home. If meeting at the funeral home, we kindly ask that no more than two family decision makers attend.
  3. Please know that we have the experience and ability to work with you on what’s best and how we can make various requests a reality regarding visitations with a viewing of the body once state restrictions are lifted.  
  4. We will continue to work with local churches, other venues and cemeteries to coordinate visitations and services once state restrictions are lifted.
  5. Our Advance Funeral Planning will continue. Please contact our main office for further details.
  6. We are meeting daily on strategy and current best practices.
  7. We have increased the intervals for our daily cleaning schedule of the building. This also includes an increased number of hand sanitizing stations and hourly wiping down of high-contact areas.
  8. We continue to work with local, state, and national agencies in relation to stopping the spread of COVID-19 in our hometown.
  9. Lastly, we have split our staff into two groups with every other week rotation of funeral directors and essential staff. The goal is to limit any sickness that could occur within our facility.
