Alex Charles Rumbuc

Alex Charles Rumbuc, 85, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born November 9, 1927 in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles and Magdalena Ponosky Rumbuc. On October 8, 1949 he married Audrey M. Gilmore at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oshkosh. Alex owned and operated a dairy farm until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Sons of Zebedee, St. James, Oakfield and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing sheepshead, woodworking, photography, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite past time was waiting for the Action Ad to arrive and clipping the coupons, looking for the best deal of the week.He is survived by his wife, Audrey; six children, Joseph Rumbuc, Oakfield, Jeffery Rumbuc, Fond du Lac, Kathleen (Jim) Geelan, Fond du Lac, Karen (Joe) Koenen, Oakfield, Charles (Mary) Rumbuc, Kaukauna, Christine (Mark "Bert") Burleton, Oakfield; 16 grandchildren, Josh (Jenni) Rumbuc, Nick Rumbuc, Holli Rumbuc, Shawn (Becky) Geelan, Stephen (Christine) Geelan, Brian (fiancée, Yumi) Geelan, Sarah (Roger) Laubenstein, Ben (Linda) Koenen, Bobby Koenen, Allison Rumbuc, Samantha Rumbuc, Derek Witt, Kerri (Joey) Cox, Lindsey Burleton; 12 great grandchildren and three on the way; one sister-in-law, Ethel Rumbuc, Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Margaret Beth and Patrick Geelan; three brothers, Charles, Frank and John.



The visitation will be from 5:00 "“ 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church from 10:00 "“ 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Sons of Zebedee, St. James Church, Oakfield with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating.
