Allen K. Stigen

June 22, 1936 — May 24, 2014

Allen K. Stigen, 77, of Rosendale, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 24, 2014. He passed away at Appleton Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1936 in North Dakota, the son of Ole and Julia Quam Stigen. On December 21, 1954 he married Avis G. Hanson. Allen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale. He worked for Mercury Marine for many years until 1987. Allen was the Police Chief in Rosendale for 25 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270 and the National Association of Police Chiefs. Allen enjoyed woodworking, wood carving, musky fishing, camping, watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.



He is survived by his wife, Avis Stigen; five children, David (Karen) Stigen, Baraboo, Gerald (Kathy) Stigen, Montello, Julie (Earl) Vis, Brandon, Brian (Shari) Stigen, Ripon, and Lori (Curt) Hedman, Stoughton; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Annie, Ben, Andrew, Sara, Geri-Beth, Jeremy, Ryan, Joey, Hunter, Kaitlyn, and Rachel; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Stigen, TX and Burton Stigen, LA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Odean and Duane. He will be missed by all and always be remembered and loved.

Private family services were held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Entombment followed in the Mausouluem.
