Andrew E. Portmann

Andrew E. Portmann, age 84, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Woodlands Assisted Living. He was born on July 3, 1934, in Chilton, WI, the son of Henry and Mary (See) Portmann. Andy served in the United States Army from 1957-59. On May 21, 1965, he married Katherine “Kate” LaShay. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1982. Andy worked for Rueping Leather and for WB Place in Hartford. He enjoyed collecting coins and was formerly a member of Eagles Aerie #270. Andy was very meticulous with his yard and he loved watching the birds.



Survivors include one sister, Eileen Moehn of Hilbert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Romilda Kuhn and Delphine Portmann; two brothers, Gilbert Portmann and Norbert Portmann.



Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place at a later date at Estabrooks Cemetery. Military honors will take place at the funeral home following the service.



In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
