August Mike Alfred Martin

August Mike Alfred Martin, 78, of Neshkoro, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his home. He was born April 14, 1928 in Shiocton, the son of August and Alice Babcock Martin. August was a veteran of the US Army serving as an auto mechanic from March of 1946 until March of 1949. On November 29, 1952 he married Viola M. Foster in Fond du Lac. He was employed by Mercury Marine for 45 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, working on cars and spending time with friends. SURVIVORS: his wife of 54 years Viola, Neshkoro; eight children, Dennis Armstrong (special friend Becky), Wautoma, August Martin, Wautoma, Dean (Mary) Martin, Fond du Lac and Neshkoro, Frank Martin (special friend Vicki), Fond du Lac, Barbara Balcerzak (special friend Dennis), Fond du Lac, Dale Martin, Oshkosh, Julie Martin, Michigan, Rayne ( Daniel) Schwartz, Neshkoro; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; five brothers, Arthur Martin, Michigan, Clinton Martin, Neshkoro, Glendon Martin, Michigan, Herby Martin, Michigan, Leonard Martin, Milwaukee; two sisters, Alice Furman Martin, Oshkosh, Betty Ault Martin, California; many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Russell, a daughter, Lisa, a grandson, Dean Baus.



VISITATION: will be from 1:30 PM "“ 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Church of Peace. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 PM at the church with Rev. Sharon Stier. Cremation has taken place.August's family took care of him during his last days. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Rayne Schwartz, Mary Martin, Maia Petrick and Sheila Lewis and Barbara Balcerzak.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
