Betty J. Silah

Betty J. Silah, 95, of Fond du Lac, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born November 7, 1926, daughter of Walter and Helen (Hess) Minske. Betty spent most of her childhood in Berlin, WI. She married Mitchell Silah on October 26, 1946 in Fond du Lac, where they resided.



Betty enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, walking, and playing Bingo. She cherished most spending time with her daughters and seeing all her grandchildren. Betty was a caring, generous, and giving woman. If you would stop in to say hello, you never left hungry. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.



Betty is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Lee, Nancy (Jim) White, Mickey (Bob) Unger, Patty (Dan) Wolf, and her special 5th daughter, Susie (Carl) Immel; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, all of whom she deeply loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mitchell; sisters, Alice and Delores; brothers, Walt and Louis.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S Peters Avenue in Fond du Lac.



A special thank you to the Hospice Home of Hope for all their wonderful staff and taking such good care of our mother. Betty would also want to thank her lunch buddies at Tarfa Terrace and special friends at the Lutheran Home of Fond du Lac.
