Catherine E. Trebec

Catherine E. TrebecCatherine E. Trebec, 89, formerly of 225 S. Hickory Street, and a resident of St. Francis Home for the past two years, died at her residence on Thursday, June 29, 2006. She was born October 23, 1916, in Milwaukee, to the late Henry and Kunigunda (Sanhuber) Seitz. On May 5, 1944, she married Albert H. Trebec in Wauwatosa. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1987. Catherine spent most of her life in the food service industry in the Milwaukee area, working at her parents' bakery in her early years, and later retiring from Marshall Field's Restaurant. She is a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, St. Joseph's Catholic Women, Divine Savior-Holy Angels Alumnae, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 Auxiliary, the Fond du Lac Senior Center, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed music, reading, knitting, travel, and loved to hear people laugh.She is survived by her three children, Marie Trebec of Fond du Lac, Catherine (Clarence) Niemi of Burlington, WI, and Lawrence Trebec of Daytona Beach, FL, her grandson, Ross (Jill) Niemi of Chicago, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Edward and Roman Seitz, and her dear sister, Dorothy (Seitz) Silke.



Visitation for Catherine E. Trebec will be on Friday, June 30, 2006, from 5 to 6:30 pm at St. Francis Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday at the home. The Rev. Joe Wolf O.F.M. CAP will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. The family requests the memorials be directed to St. Francis Home, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
