Catherine M. "Cathy" Wyrobeck

April 15, 1933 — December 4, 2020

Catherine M. “Cathy” Wyrobeck, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was born in Fond du Lac on April 15, 1933 to Eugene and Marie (Reindl) Griffin. Cathy graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1951. On September 12, 1953 she married Daniel “Dan” Wyrobeck in Fond du Lac where they lived the entirety of their 67 years of marriage.

Throughout her life Cathy enjoyed traveling to visit family, birdwatching (cardinals being her favorite), and handicrafts. She was a wonderful baker. The Wyrobeck children and grandchildren enjoyed annual Christmas cookie baking with Cathy in charge. She always loved dogs and taught her children that they were equally loved members of the family. Cathy was an avid Brewer’s fan, bowled and enjoyed playing slots at the casinos. Cathy was an especially lucky person, and she will be missed every day.

Survivors include her husband, Dan; five children, Lynn (Paul) Webb, Michael (Chris) Wyrobeck, Mary Jo (Ted) Reinke, Nancy (Jim) Thomas and Mark (Annie) Wyrobeck; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Daniel Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Eugene, Frank, and Robert Griffin; and her sister, Mary Swartley.

A private family service will be held followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
