Charles M. Hewitt

October 3, 1940 — January 17, 2015

Charles “Duke” M. Hewitt, 74, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born October 3, 1940 in Sheboygan, the son of Bryant and Harriett Beaudreau Hewitt. On April 3, 1965 he married Dolores J. Weiland at Lisbon United Presbyterian Church. Charles worked for Mercury Marine for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing sheepshead, bowling, and loved to make people laugh with his joke telling.



He is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dorrie”; five daughters, Gerri (Scott) McDermott of Beaver Dam, Jackie (Russ) Anderson of Mt. Calvary, Joanna McDermott of Beaver Dam, Kim Hewitt of Fond du Lac, and Tina Hewitt of Fond du Lac; special buddy grandson, Cody Hewitt; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine (Arland) Stellmacher of Slinger, Jackie Schneider of Berlin, and Jane Norton of Fond du Lac; special friend, Don Altmeyer of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; one great grandson.



The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Harrison officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.



In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Charle’s name.
