Charles W. Goldapske

Charles W. Goldapske, 95, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born January 5, 1918 in Fond du Lac, the son of Paul and Minnie Heber Goldapske. Charles was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934 "“ 1935. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during World War II from 1943 "“ 1946. On November 2, 1940 he married Joyce L. Armstrong and she preceded him in death after 65 years of marriage on October 21, 2005. Charles worked for Quick Freeze and Giddings and Lewis retiring on April 1, 1983. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, pitching horseshoes with the Fond du Lac Horseshoe Club, watching the Brewers and the Packers. Charles loved spending time with his grandsons. He is survived by one son, Gary (Alleen) Goldapske, Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Todd and Benjamin; one great grandson, Trenton; six brothers, Leonard (Marge) Goldapske, North Fond du Lac, Walter Goldapske, Arizona, Henry (Pat) Goldapske, North Fond du Lac, Elmer (Billie) Goldapske, North Fond du Lac, Paul (Karen) Goldapske, Van Dyne, Fred Goldapske, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; one son, Daniel; three brothers, John, Robert and Arthur; three sisters, Minnie Altman, Ann Langenecker and Olga Toetz; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Goldapske and Carol Goldapske.



The visitation will be from 12 "“ 2 PM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Covenant United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Morning officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Charles was a wonderful father and the best grandpa ever; he would do anything for his family and will be missed by all.The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the quality care given to Charles during his brief stay.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
