Charlotte A. Strong

August 6, 1933 — September 20, 2020

Charlotte A. Strong went to “rest” on the 7th day after the start of her decline, and on Sunday, September 20, 2020, which both symbolize the day of rest. One of her favorite hymns was “When We All Get to Heaven What A Day of Rejoicing that will be”, which I can only imagine the huge reunion and rejoicing it was!

She was the best Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, and friend any of us could have ever had. She worked as an Emergency Room Clerk for over 20 years, was first chair in the band playing her trumpet, but the greatest job and “gift” that she left was her living faith and love. The Gaither’s have a song called “Sow Mercy”, which states: Sow Mercy, Sow Grace, Sow Kindness, Sow Faith. She imbued each one of these qualities and if we continue to live these as she taught us, she will live on forever. I believe this was her mission and purpose in life, to which she did very well.

She is survived by her son, Dave (Chris) Juenger of Creve Coeur, IL; three daughters, Janice (Mark) Hartmann of Las Vegas, NV, Diana (Jim) Klapperich of Fond du Lac, WI, and Judy (Philip) Braker of Neshkoro, WI; step daughter, Selinda (Rick) Karl of Rockford, IL; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; brother, Max (Lu) Roderick of Thompson Station, TN; and sister, Naomi Wiseman of Lake Wales, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Courtney and Opal Roderick; her most beloved husband, Robert Eugene Strong; brother, Carl Roderick; sister-in-law, Helen Roderick; and brother-in-law, Robert Wiseman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sunnyland Christian Church at 2401 Washington Rd, Washington, IL 61571 on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Due to COVID Masks and Social Distancing ARE REQUIRED and no food or anything to follow. If you cannot attend due to COVID, we understand and you can leave a message, pictures or whatever on the tribute or picture video page above or drop us a card.

A separate Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date up in Wisconsin when her daughter, Diana can attend.

If you’d like to send a Memorial in Mom’s honor, we chose Froedtert Hospital where her daughter, Diana has had multiple surgeries for brain tumors, and will be having another on 9/24/2020. Froedtert Children’s where her great granddaughter has had multiple surgeries in the trauma ward these past few weeks or the Alzheimer’s Foundation as Mom battled with that but was blessed that in the end still knew who we were.
