Chester O. "Chet" Hubbart

January 13, 1932 — December 16, 2013

Chester "Chet" O. Hubbart, 81, of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Hope. Chet was born January 13, 1932, in Fedora, SD, the son of Orville and Esther (Siewert) Hubbart. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in the Korean War. On July 12, 1952, Chet was united in marriage to Dona Loomis in Racine, WI. For over half a century, Chet and Dona made their home in Racine. Chet was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Racine and more recently was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Fond du Lac. He retired as a supervisor from SC Johnson after 32 years of service. Chet was steadfast in spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid outdoorsman and R/C aircraft enthusiast. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol, the Racine Noon Optimists, and Salmon Unlimited; he enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time at the family cabin up north. SURVIVORS: Chet leaves behind his wife, Dona, of 61 years, two daughters; Barbara (Peter) Sippel of Fond du Lac and Cindy (Rev. Michael) Eckert of Grand Rapids, MN, six grandchildren; Scott (Amber) Sippel of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michelle Sippel of Minneapolis, MN, Dr. Theresa Sippel of Seattle, WA, Dr. Trisha Sippel of Denver, CO, Dr. Laurie (Rev. Dr. Richard) Davenport of Cincinnati, OH, and Sarah (Tysen) Bibb of Fort Wayne, IN, and one great-granddaughter, Kylee Sippel of Cedar Rapids, IA. He is further survived by two sisters; Ellen Stasieluk and Muggy Bromley, and one brother-in-law, Don (Enola) Loomis. Chet was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law; Ray Stasieluk and Bill Bromley.



FUNERAL INFORMATION:A visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 from 10AM-12PM at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac. The funeral service will take place at 12PM at the church with Pastor Steve Huff officiating.
