Dalton E. Baltz

July 23, 1922 — January 2, 2014

Dalton E. Baltz, 91 of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Calumetville on July 23, 1922, the son of Martin and Clara Diedrick Baltz. On February 1, 1941 he married Goldie B. Kramer at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Malone. Dalton was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in Burma (Myanmar). He was employed with Wehr Steel, Milwaukee, Allis Chalmers, West Allis, and D.J. Lavey Auto. In 1987 he retired from Giddings & Lewis where he was employed for 33 years and a member of the G & L Oldsters Club. He was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 and the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270 F.O.E. In May of 2011 he participated in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Dalton enjoyed his cottage in Pembine, snowmobiling, lawn work, watching storms, camping, fishing, and sturgeon spearing, (Lake Winnebago and the Menominee River were his favorites). He was always dependable and on time, could fix anything, enjoyed telling stories, and spending time with his family. SURVIVORS: Dalton is survived by four children, Gary Baltz, Fond du Lac, Judith King, Fond du Lac, Linda (Tim) Curran, Rosendale, and Lori (Tim) Albrecht, Kaukauna; eleven grandchildren, Faith (Mark) Wielgosh, Cheryl Kolitz, Brenda (Jerry) Schmitt, Gary (Sarah) Baltz Jr., Jena (Charles) Brunelli, Alivia (Mark) Roloff, Jorden King, Carissa (Adam) Giebel, Serena (Ryan) Priebe, Carter Albrecht, Haylee Albrecht; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Richard Kolitz; North Fond du Lac; one sister, Laura Keuler, Chilton. Dalton is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Catherine Baltz, Beverly (special friend Marv Woelfel) Baltz, Chilton, Esther Halfmann, Fond du Lac, and one brother-in-law Curtis (Mary Ann) Kramer, Sheboygan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Goldie; daughter, Sharon Kolitz; two brothers, Milo and Donald; and other in-laws.



VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 535 Stow Street, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014, at 12:00 PM at Pilgrim United Church of Christ. Reverend Ted Drewsen will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
