David C. Balson

David C. Balson, age 78, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc, WI. He was born on April 15, 1943, in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles and Neitah (Hubbard) Balson. On July 30, 1962, he married Beverly Ballwanz at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2010. David graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1961 and attended UW Madison. He spent his entire life farming with his father until he passed away. David also worked at Mid-States Aluminum until retirement. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Guernsey Breeders Association, Byron Historical Society, 4-H where he was a leader, Town of Fond du Lac Park Committee, Wolf River Lakes and Stream Association. David enjoyed history, genealogy, fishing. Upon retirement David spent all his summers at his cottage up north and most of all he loved spending time with family.



Survivors include three children, Brian (Julie) Balson of Fond du Lac, Bruce (Sandy) Balson of Fond du Lac, Brenda (Mark) Post of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsey) Balson, Katlynn (Peter Melton) Balson, Matthew (Lindsay) Balson, Jacob (Taylor) Balson and Ashley Balson, Holly (Tony Fischer) and Isabel Post; three great-grandchildren, Scottlynn, Rami, and Adelaide Balson; two sisters, Donna and Diana; sister-in-law, Helen Spranger; brothers-in-law, Edward and William Ballwanz; his dog, Bella; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; his sister, Doris.



Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Avoca Cemetery.
