David L. Whitty

David L. Whitty, age 79, a resident of Byron, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1934 in Fond du Lac, the son of Clark and Orena (Belling) Whitty. On May 4, 1957 he married Ruth A. Rose at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2004.David served in the United States Army from 1957-58. He worked for Grogan Motors in Lomira, Phil Tolkan Pontiac in Milwaukee, and Serwe Automotive in Campbellsport and Kewaskum. David was a Lomira School Board Member for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Byron Town Board and Historical Society, Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347 in Lomira, and the Lomira Lions Club. David enjoyed being involved in community services in Byron. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. SURVIVORS: two children, Perry (Sheri) Whitty of Fond du Lac, Terri (Peter) Hoffman of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren Jayme Whitty, Jeremy (Amanda) Whitty, Justin Whitty, Amanda (Heath) Perry, Anna (Cody) Mack; seven great-grandchildren; David's special friend, Marian Costello; brother, Donald (Claudia) Whitty of Byron; sister, Patsy Nellessen of Fond du Lac; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, and one brother in law, Roger Nellessen.



VISITATION: Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Church-Holy Family, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Friends may call on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Cremation will follow the services. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347 will conduct military honors at church.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
