David O. Arndt

David O. Arndt, 83, resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home entered his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family on June 8, 2013. He was born November 21, 1929 in Fond du Lac, the son of Reinhard and Mabel (Schmidt) Arndt. On August 15, 1992 he married Suzzette Huebner. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1948. He served in the Korean War from 1953-1955. David retired after twenty six years with the City of Fond du Lac. While employed with the City he was Union President for sixteen years and served as President of the AFSCME Association and he served on the county board for two years. After his retirement he worked as a cook at Encore Living. He was a former member of Immanuel Trinity Church where he served as an usher. Pops, "Sir" was a great man who will always live on in the hearts of those who loved him.He was survived by his wife, Suzette of North Fond du Lac; his four children: RaeAnn (Larry) Feehan of Rockford IL, Marcy (Dan) Conger of Oshkosh, David D. (Merry) Arndt of Fond du Lac, Stephen (partner Patrick Creed) Arndt of Fond du Lac; his 8 grandchildren: Heather (Justin) Oscarson, Anne Feehan, John (Elizabeth) Feehan, Christopher Feehan, Ashley (Paul) Eggers, Shane (special friend Sarah Burns) Arndt, Derek (Jessica) Arndt, Jennifer Steffen; three great grandchildren Derek Oscarson, Brynn and Baylee Arndt. Four step-children; Kimberly (John) Wilhelms, Stephanie Huebner-Wendt, Heather (Liz) Huebner-Morrow, Joshua (Lindsay) Hueber. Thelve step-grandchildren. He was further survived by two brothers, Donald Arndt of Fond du Lac, Reinhard (Jeanette) Arndt of Fond du Lac and sister, Miriam Steinke of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother's Raymond and Daniel (twin); sister in law Shirley Arndt and brother in law Carl Steinke. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother's Raymond and Daniel (twin); sister in law Shirley Arndt and brother in law Carl Steinke. The family of David would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the FDL Lutheran Home.
