Dolores M. Smith

Dolores M. Smith, age 84, of St. Francis Terrace, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on February 24, 1929 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Martin and Myrtle (Davis) Schmidt. On February 15, 1947 she married Edwin Smith at St. Joseph's Church in Fond du Lac. Together they owned and operated Smith's Aquarium until 1971. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, shopping, cooking, and especially baking. She was known for her homemade candy. Dolores was a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis, and the St. Francis Home Choir.SURVIVORS: five daughters, Christine Drake of Mequon, Paula (Alan) Jackwoski of Rosendale, Angela (Dan) Dowland of Fond du Lac, Karen Arthurs of New Market, AL, and Julie (Andrew) Detloff of North Fond du Lac; two sons, Tim Smith of Milwaukee, and Neil Smith of Menomonee Falls; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin on October 5, 2007, an infant son Thomas, son Mark, daughter Monica Smith, two grandsons, Nicholas and Lee, two brothers, and one sister.



VISITATION: Monday, July 8, 2013 from 1-2:00 P.M. at St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Monday, July 8, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Francis Home Chapel. Cremation has taken place. Entombment of cremains will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope, 400 County Trunk K, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937.
