Donald E. Bunkert

Donald E. Bunkert, age 79, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Waupun Christian Home. He was born on May 27, 1941, in Chicago, the son of Earl and Dorothy (Johnson) Bunkert. On March 11, 1961, he married Lois A. Ferguson in Pine River, WI. Donald worked at Damrow and Brenner Tank. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, construction, working on cars, and driving bus for church.



Survivors include his wife Lois A. Bunkert of Fond du Lac; his children, David W. (Linda) Bunkert of Fond du Lac, Justine M. (Jeff) Abitz of Fond du Lac, Laura J. (Todd) Rostyne of Waupun, Troy T. (Kathy) Bunkert of Fond du Lac, Patrick G. (Jessica) Bunkert of Fond du Lac; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Mary) Bunkert of Cascade; one sister, Terry L. (Tim) Mancel of Wautoma; sister-in-law, Susan K. Bunkert of Appleton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, his identical twin Ronald and Lonnie.



Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. Due to circumstances surrounding Covid-19 and the health and safety of all in attendance, only thirty people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time to visit with family. In addition, per CDC guidelines, a mask is recommended.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
