Donald W. Gerbing

Donald W. Gerbing, age 91, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, August 15, 2019, at St. Francis Home. He was born on February 11, 1928, in Waupun, the son of Ervin and Hattie (Frens) Gerbing. Don was a graduate of Rosendale High School. He served in the United States Army from 1950-52 during the Korean War and then in the Army Reserves from 1952-56. Don worked at Sears for thirty-three years until retiring in 1986. Don was a member of Church of Peace. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing sheepshead.



Survivors include his wife Geraldine of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Jill (Joe) Nelson of Fond du Lac, Jacqueline (Louie) Kuhn of Princeton; five grandchildren, Josh (Kelsey) Nelson of Waukesha, Mark (Kathryn) Nelson of Lutz, FL, Erin (Chris) Brendelson of Fond du Lac, Brooke (fiancé Ryan Scott) Dill of Fond du Lac, Courtney (Brandon) Schmidt of Princeton; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Diane) Gerbing of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Fran Gerbing of Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerome Gerbing; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Alma Pinno.



Visitation will take on Monday, August 19, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, N6250 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937. Funeral service will follow the visitation at the Mausoleum at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
