Doris K. Pothas

Doris K. Pothas, 88, a resident of Harbor Haven Nursing Home since December of 2011, died Sunday, October 5, 2014. She was born May 3, 1926, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Leo L. and Ruth Welch Hilt. Doris was formerly employed by MacGregor Sporting Goods, formerly Canvas Products, and retired in 1988. On September 5, 1954, she married John Pothas at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2012. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Doris loved to sew, making clothes for her daughter and grandchildren, loved cooking and baking, and always went to her grandkids sporting events with her husband. She was a former member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Athanasia “Kay” (Michael) Knutson of Fond du Lac, two grandchildren, Eric (Kendra) Knutson of Waupaca, and Amy (Fiancé’ Rickie Kamke, Jr.) Knutson, of Manawa, WI, a sister, Lillian Cutter of Coral Springs, FL, two brothers, Lloyd (Marlene) Hilt of Marshfield, and Elton (Mavis) Hilt of Eagle River, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, Alma Pinno, Verna Meyer, Jenny Peschke, Eva Leichtfuss, and seven brothers, Walter, Alvin, George, Leon, Floyd, Harold, and Fred Hilt.

Visitation for Doris K. Pothas will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, from 4 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, with Trisaigon Services at 7 PM, and again on Wednesday, October 8th, from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 198 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11 AM at the church. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
