Edward L. "Bob" Wuest

Edward "Bob" Louis Wuest Jr, age 91, formerly of 164 E. Scott St, Fond du Lac, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Grancare Nursing Home. He was born on March 25, 1918 in Dotyville, the son of Edward and Julia (Olig) Wuest Sr. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Enterprise from 1941-45. On August 25, 1940 he married the love of his life, Joyce Gransee at the Church of Peace. He worked as a plant engineer at Wells Manufacturing until his retirement. Prior to working at Wells, he worked for G & L, and for Kiekhafer, where he designed and built engines for Tony Bettenhausen's NASCAR team. Bob loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making wine, golfing, boating, sturgeon spearing, Harley-Davidson's, snowmobiling, canning, Green Bay Packers, and backyard cookouts. Bob was a master of all trades. He was a member of the Yacht Club, a commodore of the Fond du Lac Boat Club, and Sturgeon for Tomorrow. In the summer you would find Ed patrolling Lake Winnebago for the Auxiliary Coast Guard.SURVIVORS: his wife, Joyce of Fond du Lac, three children, Linda (Michael) Milinski of Fond du Lac, James (Nancy) Wuest of Fond du Lac, Robert (Sandy) Wuest of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Mark (Tammie) Milinski of Missouri, Lori (Andy) Jurgensmier of Fond du Lac, Jesse (Sarah) Wuest of Fond du Lac, Casey, Chad, and Gavin Wuest all of Fond du Lac, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Bernard (Betty) Wuest of Fond du Lac, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred, Florence, Alice, and Jane, one brother, Raymond.



VISITATION: Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. FUNERAL: Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 12:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside honors.
