Elizabeth "Betty" Wood

Elizabeth "Betty" Wood, 96, formerly of 920 Wisconsin Avenue, North Fond du Lac, and a resident of St. Francis Nursing Home for the past 11 years, died Thursday, November 02, 2006, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born January 21, 1910, in Omro, the daughter of Mathias and Elizabeth Schmidt Kolb. On July 15, 1933, she married Howard E. Wood in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1979. Betty was a member of Church of The Presentation in North Fond du Lac where she was the head of the visitation group and made altar vestments. She was formerly employed by Morton's For Men as a tailor, and was a 50-year member of the Rural Exchange Homemakers of Oshkosh. She and her late husband formerly owned and operated Delwood Dairy in Oshkosh for over 20 years. Surviving is a daughter, Faye Hardgrove of Fond du Lac, three sons, Howard (Nancy) Wood of North Fond du Lac, Delford (Gale) Wood of Fond du Lac, and Edward (Kathy) Wood of Springfield, MA. 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, John Kolb of Bloomington, MN, a sister, Mary Denure of Oshkosh, and one sister-in-law, Viola Wood of Oshkosh, further survive her. Her parents, husband, four brothers, three sisters and a son in law preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Wood will be on Sunday, November 5, 2006, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 6th at 10:30 am from the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Presentation in North Fond du Lac will be at 11:00 am. The Rev. Dennis VanBeek will officiate and burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
