Emmett H. Leonhardt, 72, of 25 N. Sallie Ave. in Fond du Lac died Aug. 20, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital with all his loving family by his side.He was born on August 7, 1938 in Fond du Lac, the son of Albert A. and Edith E. Crook Leonhardt. He married Diane G. Woodley on May 18, 1963 at Church of Peace.He was a graduate of Goodrich High, class of 1956. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, UW-Madison and graduated from UW-Oshkosh.He worked at AC Nielson for 2 years and Mercury Marine for 34 years before retiring in 1995. All his years at Mercury Marine were spent in the Information Tech Department.Emmett was one of the founding fathers of the Fond du Lac Blue Line Hockey Club in 1969 and has been on the Board of Directors for 41 years. He also held the offices of; President for 4 years, Vice-President 3 years, Treasurer 6 years, and Secretary 3 years. One of his pet projects was coordinating the building of the Family Ice Center. He was an active member until his death.Mr. Leonhardt was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ and worked on various committees at church. He also delivered mobile-meals for St. Agnes Hospital since 1996. He was a member of the Eagles Club since 1971, and Walleyes For Tomorrow. He loved going to the casinos with his best friends Russ and Jan Welsch and turkey hunting with his brother Lyle and nephew Kurt.Survivors include: his brother, Lyle (Nancy) Leonhardt of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Dee Leonhardt of Renton, Washington; special nieces and nephews, Kurt (Debbie) Leonhardt of West Bend, Beth Wendels, Louann (Bruce) Fauska of Fond du Lac, Peggy (Jim) Leu of Kiel, Linda (Chuck) Hooper, Diana ("Pete") Peterson of Washington, Pattie Leonhardt of Georgia, Ashley, Tim, Katie and Mike Woodley and their mother, Cindy (Randy) Bartel and Keegan Bartel of Ashford; many great-nieces and great-nephews; his mother-in-law, Eleanoris Lohse; brothers-in-law, Dean Woodley, Scott Woodley and family.He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Edith Leonhardt, his wife, Diane (2002), son, Christopher (1992), brother, David (1990).



VISTIATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again from 9:30 "“ 10:30 AM on Wednesday at church. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ with Rev. Ted Drewsen officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Inurnment will take place at All Faiths Garden Mausoleum, Rienzi Cemetery at a later date.The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses and staff in St. Agnes I.C.U. for such wonderful care. All memorials will go to the Blue Line Hockey Club and Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
