Ervin M. "Porky" Konen

February 1, 1915 — October 12, 2005

Ervin M. "Porky" Konen, age 90 formerly of 653 West Arndt Street, and a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home for the past year, died Wednesday, October 12,2005 at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home. He was born February 1, 1915 in Taycheedah the son of Christ and Della Ziegelbauer Konen. On October 21,1946 he married Bernice Haessly in Fond du Lac. Bernice preceded him in death on February 27,1970 .On July 26,1974 he married Kathryn Petrie Murray in Fond du Lac. Kathryn preceded him in death on May 1, 1979. A life-long Fond du Lac resident he worked for the railroads for 10 years and later Ervin worked for Giddings & Lewis for 25 years retiring in 1976. He was employed as a security guard at St. Agnes Hospital from 1978 to 1988. Ervin was a life-long member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church, the Holy Name Society, life member of Knights of Columbus Council #664 and Trier- Puddy American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed bird watching, wood working, and flowers.SURVIVORS: two sons, James (Gisela) Konen, and Michael Konen, all of Fond du Lac, one daughter, Joyce Ann (friend Mark Adelman) , Fond du Lac, three grandchildren, Amber, Ben, and Sam Konen, Fond du Lac, former daughter-in-law, Kelly Konen, Fond du Lac, two brothers, Eugene (Connie) Konen, Coral Springs, FL, Delmer Konen, Fond du Lac, three sisters, Irma Bredlau, Jean Tautges and Bernita Rockweit all of Fond du Lacsister-in-law, Dorothy Mangan, Fond du Lac. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, and a sister, Hazel.



VISITATION: Monday, October 17, 2008 from 4-8 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 10:30 a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. Reverend Victor Capriolo will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services. There will be no visitation at the funeral home Tuesday morning prior to leaving for church.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home Is Serving The Family.
