Esther M. Basler

Esther M. Basler, age 99, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, February 05, 2017 at Lake View Place, Fond du Lac. She was born on December 28, 1917 in Taycheedah, the daughter of Simon and Elizabeth (Schaefer) Emery. On June 6, 1939 she married Edward Basler in St. Peter. He preceded her in death in September of 1995. Esther worked as a nurse’s aide at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for numerous years. She formerly was a member of the Sunnyside Club, St. Anne Ladies Society, St. Anne Mission, and Borden Pillar Club. Esther enjoyed knitting, bingo, playing sheepshead, and spending time with her friends at Lake View.



Survivors include three children, Jerry (Gail) Basler of Columbus, WI, Linda (Bill) Boudry of Hartford, WI, Jim (Cheri) Basler of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Craig Boudry, Nicole (Mark) Amidon, Kate (Ed) Possing, Michelle (Tony) Heger, Andy (Kay) Basler, Claire (Scot) Pennell, Travis Basler, Adam (Dahlia) Basler, Dan (Meagan) Basler; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and staff at Lake View. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; two daughters, Ann Basler and Mary Breister; one son-in-law, John Breister; and two sisters and one brother.



Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 12-2 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Peter Cemetery, St. Peter.
