Fern L. Westphal

January 21, 1944 — July 19, 2012

Fern L. Westphal, 68, of Van Dyne, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. She was born on January 21, 1944 in the Town of Eldorado, the daughter of Karl and Ada (Hackbarth) Braasch. On November 27, 1965 she married Ronald Westphal at St. Johns Church in the Town of Nekimi. Fern helped run the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, sewing for her grandchildren, babysitting, canning, cooking, and was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies. Fern also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for special occasions. She was also a former 4-H Leader. SURVIVORS: her husband, Ronald of Van Dyne, six children, Gary (Renee) Westphal of Fond du Lac, Michael Westphal of Van Dyne, Sherri (Don) Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Chad Westphal of Van Dyne, Amy (Brad) Viau of Van Dyne, Kristin (Louie) Uttendorfer of Oakfield, nine grandchildren, Kasey, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, Briana, Emily, Izabel, Brayden, and Nathan, four step-grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Alyson, and Aryn, two brothers, Leroy Braasch of Van Dyne, Ronnie (Chris) Braasch of Van Dyne, one sister, Judy Reinhardt of Oshkosh, brother in law, Robert Schultz of Van Dyne, and her faithful companion, "Kaylie Mae".and she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Shirley Schultz, one brother, Vernon Braasch, and one sister in law, Inge Braasch.



At Fern's request, there will be no visitation and private family services will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh where entombment will take place.Additional information and guestbook can be found at www.ueckerwitt.comUecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
