George A. Gruenwald

George A. Gruenwald, 78, of 366 Cedar Street, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born January 3, 1930, in Fond du Lac, the son of George C. and Laura Busse Gruenwald. On August 25, 1956, he married Margaret Rebedew at the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac where he was currently a member. George was a veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951 to 1953. He was formerly employed by Pat Guy Glass and later the Fond du Lac School System at Waters School. He retired in 1995. George was a former member of the Fond du Lac Military Band. Surviving is his wife, Margaret, a son, Michael Gruenwald of Fond du Lac, a brother, Donald (Gloria) Gruenwald of North Fond du Lac, a sister-in-law, Marion (Tom) Hannes of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His parents, and a sister, Lois Barton, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. George A. Gruenwald will be on Friday, December 19, 2008, from 11 to 2 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 pm at the funeral home on Friday. The Rev. James F.D. Martin will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. Members of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 Firing Squad will conduct graveside military rites.
