Georgia Gialourakos

Georgia Gialourakos, 86, of Fond du Lac, died December 3, 2013, at home after a brief, but brave fight with cancer. She was born January 7, 1927, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Harry and Katharine Koutsogiannopoulos Poulos. On June 9, 1957, she married George Gialourakos in Fond du Lac at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Prior to her marriage, she served as church organist and choir director. Georgia was a lifetime member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Surviving is her husband of 56 years, George, a son, Dr. Andrew, a daughter, Kathy (Rev. George P.) Pappas, a grandson, Perry Pappas, a nephew, Robert J. Poulos, cousins Ann Kostan and Georgia Powell, as well as many other dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.



Visitation for Georgia Gialourakos will be on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 11 to 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 198 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon at the church on Friday. Rev. Peter Pappademetriou and Rev. George P. Pappas will officiate. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
