Georgiana Ellison

Georgiana G. “Gail” Ellison, age 77, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Home of Hope on Friday, August 5, 2016. She was born on July 20, 1939 the daughter of Henry R. and Genevieve R. (Rowlee) Downing. On July 27, 1963 she married Malcolm R. Ellison at Ft. Benning, GA. Together they raised seven children. Gail worked in the bakery at Pick N Save in Sussex for several years until she retired. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Sussex. She loved sewing, starting with making her children’s clothing, Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, kitchen witches, Halloween costumes and baptismal gowns, etc. Watching birds, feeding squirrels, baking bread, finding new recipes to try, and playing marbles and Skipbo with family and friends! A truly amazing woman whom will never be forgotten! She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.



Survivors: seven children, Michael (Cyndi) Ellison of Port Wing, WI, Jennifer Herrera of Cedar Park, TX, Audra (Calvin) Maryland of Longmont, CO, Malana (Roger) Hanson of Fond du Lac, Allison (Chris) Garrison of Gulf Breeze, FL, Gayla (Samm) Cudo of Rangely, CO, Joshua (Kelly) Ellison of Hutto, TX; thirty-four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Rod (Gwen) Downing of Butternut, WI, Sheila Korup of Grafton, WI, Sandy (Roger) Klein of Menomonee Falls, Bonnie (Dave) Leverance of Milwaukee, Bruce (Christie) Downing of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Caryl Johnson of Bruce, WI, Donna (Jim) Jasicki of Barron, WI; brother-in-law, Dean Daniels of St. Croix; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm R. Ellison; one granddaughter, Alana Marie Ellison-Hanson; sister-in-law, Bev Daniels; two brothers-in-law, Marv Korup, and Jim Johnson.



Visitation will take place on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5-7:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service and time of remembrance will be held at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 12 noon at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, WI.
