Gerald H. Abraham

Gerald H. Abraham, age 75 a resident of Liberty House Assisted Living, 701 South Main Street, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at ManorCare Health Services where he had been for a short time. He was born October 3, 1932 in Eldorado the son of Henry and Leona Matulle Abraham. On December 4, 1954 he married Beverly M. Anthes at New Bethel Evangelical Reformed Church, Oshkosh. Gerald was a member of Church of Peace for over 50 years. Beverly preceded him in death on September 19, 2007. Gerald attended Moraine Park to become a Junior Forest Ranger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Alaska Theater. He was enlisted from December 2, 1952 to November 10, 1954. He worked at Dahl Motors Ford in Oshkosh for 34 years and later for Best Roller until retiring in 1998. He had been a resident of Van Dyne until moving to Fond du Lac in 2005. Gerald was a member of the Sportsman's Club, and honorary member of the Van Dyne Lions Club and Van Dyne Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed trap shooting, golfing, as a young man he raced stock cars, and enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and was an avid Brewer's fan. SURVIVORS: one son, Michael Abraham, Fond du Lac; two daughters, Debra (Dale) Potratz, Fond du Lac and Betsy (Edward) Soukup, Oshkosh; three grandsons, Ryan (Kelly) Potratz, Fond du Lac, Aaron (Heidi) Potratz, Waupun, Nathan (Danielle) Potratz, Pickett; one granddaughter, Kristen Potratz, Manitowoc; two great-grandchildren, Makenya Potratz and Landon Potratz; one sister, Judy (Jim) Brooks, Lakewood, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant son, Andrew.



VISITATION: will be from 11 AM "“ 3 PM on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Schiller Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com.
