Geraldine J. "Gerry" Dittrich

Geraldine J. "Gerry" Dittrich, 89, a resident of Grancare Nursing Home since 2006, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was born February 14, 1924, in Wausau, the daughter of Albert H. and Verna Witte Westberg. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. Gerry was very social and enjoyed talking with people. She loved children, fashionable clothes, automobiles, dancing, upbeat music, being funny, entertaining and cooking. She was an excellent seamstress and had a small sewing business for many years. Surviving is a daughter, Diana (Thomas) Janssen of Appleton, a son, Douglas (Elaine) Dittrich of Naperville, IL, three grandchildren, Gregory (Emily Burden) Janssen of Las Vegas, Bradley (Jean) Janssen of Appleton, and Stephanie Janssen and her husband Wallace Krantz of Brooklyn, NY, a great-granddaughter, Katherine Janssen of Appleton, a sister, Patricia Schmitt, of Sarasota, FL, and a nephew, Billy (Lynn) Schmitt, also of Sarasota, FL. Her parents and her brother-in-law, William Schmitt preceded her in death.



Per Gerry's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place. A spring inurnment of cremated remains will be in Rienzi Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
