Gertrude "G.G." La Shay

Gertrude "G.G." La Shay, 84, of Fond du Lac, was reunited with her husband, Shorty for eternity, Sunday, July 28, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born May 6, 1929 in Rosendale, the daughter of Simon and Gertrude Killemberger Wendl. On July 3, 1948 she married Manley J. La Shay and he preceded her in death on October 9, 1976. Gertrude provided foster care in her home for 21 years taking care of over 250 children. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. Gertrude was devoted to taking care of her family and all of her kids.She is survived by four children, Dennis (Arunee) La Shay, Donna (Paul) Buczek, Sarah (Larry) Schibline, and Roxanne (Jimbob) Smet; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; her twin sister, Elizabeth Crego and sister, Eva Giles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters.



The visitation will be held from 9:30 AM "“ 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Covenant United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Morning officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the family.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
