Gertrude V. Chesney, age 86, of W7775 Coyne Rd, Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at home. She was born on February 1, 1920 at Harvest Farm near Mayville in the Town of Hubbard, the daughter of Alma (Gundrum) and Otto Albinger. On November 9, 1946 she married Joseph H. Chesney at Holy Angels in West Bend. Joseph preceded her in death on May 25, 1974. Gertrude enjoyed farming with her husband, but also worked at the Dinner Bell Restaurant and Hope Nursing Home in Lomira, WI. Gertrude and Joseph owned Joe & Gerts Over the Hill Bar until 1974 and then Gertrude and her children ran it until 1989, when she retired to live with her children. Gertrude loved to play bingo and put puzzles together. She was a member of Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, Eldorado, WI. SURVIVORS: seven children, Mary Beth, Harvey (Shari), Norbert and Rosann all of Fond du Lac, Joseph of Sheboygan, Catherine (David) Jones of Madison, Robert of Peoria, IL, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Francis (Diane) Albinger. She was preceded in death by her son, James, three brothers, Carl, Robert, and Edward, one sister, Caroline, and her parents.
