Harold T. Hoyt

April 22, 1921 — February 2, 2015

Harold T. Hoyt, 93 of Fond du Lac and a resident of Artisan Assisted Living, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at Artisan Assisted Living. He was born on April 22, 1921 in Marshfield, WI the son of Ralph F.P. and Jewel Tobin Hoyt. Harold was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School Cass of 1940. He was a veteran of World War II serving from July 17, 1942 to December 24, 1945 in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the SOO Line Railroad as a brakeman/conductor for 31 years retiring in May 1981. He spent his retirement years pulling a fifth wheel trailer and traveling through all 50 states, residing in Arizona and then Stevens Point. He enjoyed family genealogy. Harold was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church



SURVIVORS: Harold is survived by one son, Joseph Hoyt of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Mary (Steve) Zimmerman of Mount Calvary; four grandchildren, Tamara (John) Schultz, Christy Blessing, Mike (Shauna) Zimmerman, Cara (Jason) Blank; six great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Olivia, Rachel, Eli, Kate, and Nate. Harold is further survived by a sister, Margie Larsen of Sturgeon Bay, and his wife Marge’s son and family Earl (Jan) Higgins of Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mildred Hoyt; his wife, Marie (Lisowe) Hoyt; his second wife, Sarah Marjorie (Higgins) Hoyt; one brother, Donald (Ruby) Hoyt; one sister, Edith Rickmeyer; brother-in-law, James Larsen; and one grandson-in-law, Patrick Blessing.



VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Morning officiating. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date in Rienzi Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the YMCA which sponsored a membership for Harold in his youth or to Agnesian Hospice.



We would like to extend our appreciation to all the staff who treated our father like family while he resided at St. Peter’s Place and at Artisan Living here in Fond du Lac. Their extra care and attention meant so much to us. Thanks also to Agnesian Hospice, who assisted with great kindness and skill in dad’s final weeks.
