Helen Mae Sindahl

Helen Mae Sindahl, 91, of North Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born in Fond du Lac on April 24, 1925, a daughter of Herbert and Elanore (Dart) Scharfenberg. Helen married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Silas K. Sindahl, Jr. in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2006.



She was a stay-at-home mom and loved it. Helen loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. The family was not able to keep enough puzzles on hand for her to do. She also loved dogs and had three of them in her lifetime; Curly, Frosty and Daisy.



Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Dave) Lamb; four grandchildren, Ross Golden of Ohio, Doug Lamb and Tina Lamb, both of North Fond du Lac and Tim Lamb of Oakfield; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Carpenter of Fond du Lac, Evan Golden of Ohio, Bailey Carpenter of North Fond du Lac, Morgan Lamb of North Fond du Lac, Kaden Cummings of Fond du Lac, Kaelyn Keeling of North Fond du Lac and Peyton Lamb of Oakfield; and one great-great-granddaughter, Anabelle Lackey of Fond du Lac, making our five-generation family. Also surviving is a sister, Patricia Ford of North Fond du Lac (Touchstone Living Center), a niece and nephew and their families.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas; one daughter, Maureen (Gerald) Golden; her parents, Herbert and Elanore; her brother, Herbert; brothers-in-law, Harley (Louise) Sindahl, Howard (Dorothy) Sindahl and Jack Ford.



Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sukhyun Jung officiating. Burial in Estabrooks Cemetery will follow the service.
