James E. Lapine Jr.

November 25, 1948 — June 4, 2022

James E. LaPine Jr, age 73, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on November 25, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the son of James LaPine Sr. and Marcella (Zimmerman) LaPine. James served in the United States Army stationed in Germany. James then attended the University of Minnesota. On August 5, 1978, he married Jean Steinbarth at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac.



James loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and hobby farming were a huge passion. He enjoyed spending time on the tractor, in the boat, and tinkering in the garage. He was a very caring husband, father, and grandfather. James also enjoyed spending time with his wife, Jean and going on their daily drive along the lake to “take in some of God’s beauty.”



James was also very dedicated to his career in Computer Aided Design/Engineering working at Tata Technologies. He spent many years competing in walleye tournaments across the Midwest and enjoyed many great times with family and friends.



Survivors include his wife, Jean; his children, Nichole (Pete) Schnettler, Adam LaPine, Jacob LaPine; his grandchildren, Makenzie Schodrow, Sawyer Schnettler, Annyka Schnettler; his sisters, Mary Anne (Steve) LaPine-Schmidt, Kathy (Mike) Bozich; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Daniel LaPine.



A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the place of his request, his hunting land along the Fox River. Cremation has taken place.
