Janice "Jan" Decker

April 17, 1940 — February 27, 2010

Jan C. Decker, 69, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Hospice Home of Hope. She was born April 17, 1940, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Frank and Alma Schmitz Decker. Jan was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary' s Springs Academy. Jan was employed as a Respiratory Therapist at St. Agnes Hospital for over 40 years. She was always a loving, caring, and generous person with a great sense of humor. All who knew her knew her love of animals. Jan enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her many pets throughout the years, which have included horses, dogs, and cats. She donated to numerous charities, which have included Free Spirit Riders, Cancer Society, the Fond du Lac Humane Society, Multiple Sclerosis, and Muscular Dystrophy amongst many others. Jan is survived by her loving and caring cousin, Marcia Barrier (families), her best friends, Sue (Wayne) Wightman and Joanne Zimmerman, all of Fond du Lac, her God-daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Feucht and their children, Samantha, Jarrett and Sofia of Campbellsport, and the family of Al Abler, Joe, Margaret, Trish, Kathleen, Louise, and Doug (families). She is further survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and her very loyal, loving, and always by her side yellow Labrador retriever, Denver. Her parents, a brother, John, a half brother, James, and her special friend, Al Abler, preceded her in death.



Visitation for Jan Decker will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 1 to 3 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday. Pastor Gregory Decker, Jan's nephew, will officiate. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope, 400 Cty Trk K, Fond du Lac, or the Fond du Lac Humane Society, 652 Triangle Road, Fond du Lac. Jan's family and friends would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses atSt. Agnes Hospital, Agnesian Home Care and Hospice Hope for their care. Jan talked very highly of all of the staffs and wonderful care given to her.
