Joan A. Diederichs

Joan A. Diederichs, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born July 20, 1934 in the Town of Forest, daughter of Simon and Rose Gundert Birschbach. On October 8, 1955 she married Jerome H. Diederichs at Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary. Joan worked for Mercury Marine for 43 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Knights. Joan enjoyed gardening, playing the organ, snowmobiling, boating, and traveling.



She is survived by one brother, James M. Birschbach of Malone; sisters-in-law, Dolly Birschbach of Brookfield, Rose Birschbach of Fond du Lac, Betty Birschbach of Fond du Lac, Edna (Donald) Nadler of Chilton, and Rita Diederichs of Mt. Calvary; brother-in-law, Gerald Diederichs of Mt. Calvary; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome; four brothers, Harold (Marcella) Birschbach, Nelson Birschbach, Eugene Birschbach, and Lester Birschbach; three sisters, Martha (Harold) Petrie, Alice (John) Wurtz, and Germaine (Leander) Sabel; sisters-in-law, Bernice Diederichs and Joan Birschbach; and brother-in-law, Melvin Diederichs.



The visitation will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. The Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Entombment will follow the services.



In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Disabled Veterans of America in Joan’s name.
