Joel "Joe" P. Deere, age 49, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born on October 25, 1964 in Fond du Lac, the youngest child of Donald H. and Laurie M. (Bartelt) Deere. Joel attended Pier Elementary, Theisen Junior High, and graduated from Goodrich High School. At age 20, he moved to Florida where he worked at Winn Dixie Grocery. He returned to Fond du Lac five years later and worked at Quad Graphics in Fond du Lac and Oklahoma for twenty years.On November 3, 1997 he married Jill Jaeger in Jamaica and all immediate family members attended. They have two sons, Jesse and Casey. They later divorced.He loved the Green Bay Packers and telling stories. He was a generous person, who would give the person next to him his jacket if he thought they needed it more. Joe was very sentimental, saving every card and weekly letter that his mother sent him while in Florida. There were trinkets everywhere in his apartment that had special meaning to him. Joe was a very social person with a unique personality. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and was the life of the party.Survivors include his two sons of Fond du Lac, two brothers, Kent Deere and Tom (Deb) Deere both of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Patti (Jim) Barnes of Wilmette, IL and Judy (Tim) Simon of Fond du Lac; nephews, Rob Deere of Fond du Lac, Seth Meddaugh of Fond du Lac, and Alex (fiancé Lindsay) Meddaugh of Edwardsville, KS; nieces, Nicole Barnes of Portland, OR, Katie (Ben) Kottke, Brea Meddaugh of Fond du Lac, and Laura (Charles) Betthauser of Waukesha; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one nephew, Jarid Meddaugh.



VISITATION: Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 1-4 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
