John "Jack" H. Fitzpatrick

August 13, 1935 — April 4, 2015

John “Jack” H. Fitzpatrick, 79, of Lamartine, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born August 13, 1935 in Marblehead, the son of Delbert C. and Violet H. Nast Fitzpatrick. Jack served in the U.S. Army on foreign and domestic land from January 1955 – December 1956 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant with the 48th Field Artillery. On July 18, 1959 he married Shirley A. Miller at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Jack worked for Fond du Lac County, Mercury Marine, and the Department of Corrections for the State of Wisconsin, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed camping, fishing, history, and loved spending time with his family.



He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Lamartine; two sons, John (Laurie) Fitzpatrick of Oshkosh and Michael (Monica) Fitzpatrick of Lamartine; one daughter, Cheryl (Brian) Kopf of Oakfield; nine grandchildren, Joseph (Lauren) Fitzpatrick, Nicholas Fitzpatrick, Meaghan Fitzpatrick, William Fitzpatrick, Timothy Fitzpatrick, Erin Fitzpatrick, Collin Fitzpatrick, Leslie Kopf and Carley Kopf; two step grandchildren, Crystal and Jackie; and one great grandchild, Sean Fitzpatrick. He is further survived by two sisters, Caroline (Ralph) Raube of North Fond du Lac and Rosemary (Jerry) Schneider of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Ervin and Hilda Miller; and one sister, Diane Mae Fitzpatrick.



Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating.



Jack’s family very much appreciates the care he received from Agnesian Hospice Home Care and Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope. Memorials in Jack’s name may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope.
