Joseph C. Scherer

Joseph C. Scherer, age 91, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Grancare Nursing Home. He was born on February 12, 1925 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Joseph Scherer. On April 28, 1950 he married Miriam Hammelman. Joseph worked as a mechanical engineer for Gidding & Lewis.



SURVIVORS: his wife, Miriam of Fond du Lac; two sons, Dr. Joel (Dr. Anna Maria V. Storniolo) Scherer of Carmel, IN, Jeffrey (Janet) Scherer of Waukegan, Il; grandchildren, Alexander Scherer of New Haven, CT, Peter Scherer of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas Scherer of Carmel, IN; one sister, June Young of Sheboygan, WI; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Awe.



Visitation will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Committal prayers and entombment will follow the visitation at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
