Joseph G. "Jay" Faris

June 23, 1940 — July 15, 2007

Joseph George "Jay" Faris, 67, of 488 Taft Street, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born June 23, 1940, in Fond du Lac, the son of Richard "Dick" and Marie Reisch Faris. He was a 1959 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. On July 9, 1988, he married Nathalie Korb Will in Fond du Lac. Mr. Faris was a member of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. He was formerly employed by Tecumseh Engine of New Holstein and Mercury Marine. Jay was a veteran of both the US Navy and US Air Force. He loved working with children. He was a certified coach instructor in Junior Bowling for 20 years, a Boys Baseball and Babe Ruth coach for 10 years, and a coach of the Sabish Middle School Girls gymnastics team for 16 years. Surviving is his wife, Nathalie, who he loved dearly, three children, Tara Lynn (Jim) Majeska of Fond du Lac, Dr. Richard J. (Leanne) Faris of Memphis, TN, and Mark R. (Susan) Faris of Tampa, FL, a step-daughter, Diane (Eric) Gedlinske of Fond du Lac, 8 grandchildren; Hannah and Ben Majeska, Seth, Cammi, and Ethan Faris, Connor, Caleb, and Chloe Faris, two step-grandchildren, Keegan and Zackary Gedlinske, and a step-great-granddaughter, Lydia Thompson. He loved his grandchildren very much. Further surviving are four brothers, Richard (Susan) Faris, Mickey (Kathy) Faris, Lee (Linda) Faris, all of Fond du Lac, and Marvin (Rita) Faris of Davenport, FL, and a sister, Mary (Ed) Haase of Fond du Lac. His parents and a granddaughter, Olivia Marie Majeska, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Joseph George "Jay" Faris will be on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 9:30 to 11 am at Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday. The Rev. Pat Heppe will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will be in the Veterans section of Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
