Joseph O. "Greyhound" Schmitz

Joseph "Greyhound" O. Schmitz age 49 of W7636 County Trunk WH, Town of Taycheedah, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at his residence. He was born on December 21, 1958 in Fond du Lac the son of Jerome J. and Joan Stephanie Schmitz. He was a graduate of Goodrich High School Class of 1977. He was employed with Mercury Marine. Joe was a director of the St. Peter Athletic Club and a past member of St. Peter's Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and gardening.He is survived by his parents, Jerome (Joan) Schmitz, St. Peter, seven brothers and sisters, Ann Pickart, St. Peter, Edward Schmitz, St. Peter, John (Dee) Schmitz, Fond du Lac, Paul (Patty) Schmitz, St. Peter, Julie (Lee) Hansen, St. Peter, Don (Sherri) Schmitz, Fond du Lac, Ricky Schmitz, Fond du Lac, nine nieces, and nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. He is survived by his parents, Jerome (Joan) Schmitz, St. Peter, seven brothers and sisters, Ann Pickart, St. Peter, Edward Schmitz, St. Peter, John (Dee) Schmitz, Fond du Lac, Paul (Patty) Schmitz, St. Peter, Julie (Lee) Hansen, St. Peter, Don (Sherri) Schmitz, Fond du Lac, Ricky Schmitz, Fond du Lac, nine nieces, and nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and a brother-in-law Harvey Pickart.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2008 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family "“St. Peter's Parish, St. Peter. Cremation will follow the traditional services with inurnment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.Memorials appreciated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Kathy's House of Milwaukee. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
